Is the MCP server an AI?

No. It does not reason or decide what to do on its own. It provides the tools your AI application uses to retrieve information and perform supported actions in Attentive.

Does this replace Attentive’s native agents, such as the Reporting Agent?

No. They are complementary. Native agents provide an experience within Attentive. The MCP server connects Attentive to external AI applications and workflows that span multiple tools and services.

Which AI applications are supported?

You can connect through the native Attentive connectors in Claude and ChatGPT, or through compatible MCP clients using a custom connection. See Installation for application-specific instructions.

Can it change my live campaigns or journeys?

Yes. Available write tools can schedule, pause, or resume campaign sends and publish, pause, or resume journeys. Native connectors may include write tools; custom MCP connections require ?readOnly=false to enable them. Approval prompts depend on your AI application and its settings. Review higher-risk actions before requesting them.
